Part 1: Barossa Wine Auction x Cellr

On Friday 16th April $162,226.25* worth of wines fitted with the Barossa Seal of Provenance (powered by Cellr) were sold in the first installment of the Barossa Wine Auction. 

Through the partnership, Cellr and the Barossa Grape and Wine Association have provided winning bidders proof of provenance on each wine and a digital brand engagement experience via latest near field communication (NFC) technology.

Let’s wrap it up with the highlights:

  • 190 people attended the event 
  • The highest bid was for a rare imperial of Penfolds Bin 95 Grange, which went at $58,250*
  • A total of 29 lots were featured in the Barossa Live Event
  • One lot contained 60 bottles of Eden Valley Reisling
  • The Standish Wine Company The Relic Single Vineyard Shiraz Viognier Imperial (6 litre) set reached 10 times its estimate, selling at $8,155*
  • The winner of the Cellr NFC activated lucky door prize received $312 worth of Schild Estate and Heathvale Wines.
  • Guests were greeted with oysters and an array of local Rieslings upon entry, a big highlight for our team
